Still building. Since 1998.
Four Eyes has been designing and building websites since 1998, which is long enough to have shipped through four platform shifts and to have opinions about all of them.
We work with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that have outgrown cheap builds, junior developers, and agencies that disappeared after launch day. Law firms, healthcare providers, nonprofits, ecommerce brands, and B2B teams that depend on their website the way they depend on their phone system.
The practice is Charlotte, NC, with New York roots. The work has shipped across the Carolinas and well beyond them.
He started it in a Brooklyn apartment and never stopped writing code.
Four Eyes was founded in 1998 in DUMBO, Brooklyn. It moved to Charlotte, and the person who wrote the code then is the person who writes it now.
Michael works directly on every project. There is no account manager between you and the person writing the code, no junior taking over after kickoff, and no ticket queue routing your site to whoever has open time. When something breaks, he is the one who picks up.
That is a deliberate ceiling on how large the studio can get. It is also the entire reason clients stay past year one.
“If you are going to spend twenty-eight years on something, it should be a craft, not a category.”MICHAEL J. SAMMUT

Michael writes the code. This is the bench around him.
Four Eyes is one engineer with a bench behind him. Each has a name, a lane, and a job they are trusted with. Michael reviews and ships everything that leaves the studio.

Michael J. Sammut
Engineering. Architecture, the code, the person on the call.
Owen P. Usher
Architecture. The hard problems, the long builds.
Jason Nettles
Design. Layout, type, front-end polish.
Kai Hughes
Maintenance and support. Short, quick, done by lunch.
Faye Belle
Copy. Headlines, pages, articles that say one thing.
Mia Thomas
Strategy. Discovery, scope, what the site is for.
Claudia Rains
QA. Every template, every device, before you see a link.
Two kinds of teams hire us.
Either way the conversation starts the same: tell us what you are working with.
Teams that want design and engineering in the same pair of hands.
They want a complete site, not a template with their content nailed onto it. They care that the person drawing the page understands what it costs to build, and that the person building it can tell when the drawing is wrong.
Usually they come to us before anything has gone wrong. They have seen what happens when a website fails at the worst possible moment: an intake form down during a campaign, a donation page broken the week of the annual drive.
Teams that have been burned and now want an engineer.
They arrive with a story: an agency that went quiet after launch, a freelancer who disappeared mid-build, or a WordPress install carrying forty-seven plugins that breaks every time someone runs an update.
They have stopped believing pitches. They want someone who can diagnose what is broken and fix it permanently, not sell them another round of patches. We diagnose first, re-architect where we have to, and remove the conflicts rather than working around them.
Not ready to commit to a rebuild?
Start with a Second Opinion Audit. An honest read of where your site stands, what to fix in what order, and what to ignore. No obligation to hire us for the fix.
What you typically get, and what you get here.
We use AI every day. It is not responsible for your website. We are.
Anyone can generate a website now. What you get here is the speed of the tools plus twenty-eight years of knowing what breaks, and a person who signs the work.
What AI does here
- First drafts of copy and articles
- Research and summaries
- Repetitive build work and tests
- Image and diagram starting points
- Checking our own pages for errors
What a person does
- Decides what the site should do
- Designs against your real content
- Checks every claim and number
- Maps redirects and tests forms
- Answers when you call
What we never hand to it
- Your strategy
- Anything published in your name without review
- Your logins, data, or client information
- The decision to recommend you a builder instead of us
- Responsibility for the result
We ran the easy experiment on our own site: 510 articles, most of them written with AI, four clicks in ninety days. We wrote up what happened.

Small World Vacations is one of the top sellers of Disney Travel worldwide and our success is directly related to the creative and technological guidance we receive from FourEyes.com. We have worked with Michael and Sara for over 12 years and our remarkable growth and global brand recognition is a result of our seamless collaborations. We rely on them to keep our business up-to-date with trends and innovations online and in print. One added bonus is their ability to read our mind and bring to life the marketing materials we were envisioning.
Four Eyes has been such a valued partner of Roof Above for the past several years. They helped to design and develop our website (www.roofabove.org). As a recently merged organization, it initially felt like an overwhelming task to collapse both legacy organizations’ separate identities and websites to create a brand new one, however the team’s expertise and knowledge made the process smooth and seamless. The team’s guidance and proficiencies brought us much relief and confidence. We are thrilled with the result. We would happily recommend Four Eyes for any website work.
Michael Sammut and the team at Four Eyes have done so much more for us than creating a beautiful site. As digital marketing experts, they have created a strategic site that is grounded in SEO content. Our business has increased and we are coming out of the pandemic stronger than we were before. Michael is one of the most talented people in the business; he is also a human being of striking character and determination. Interact Studio’s superpower is Four Eyes Productions.
Four Eyes built and maintained two of our websites. The support and service have always been fast and professional, and we email them anytime with questions or modifications. Working with us since 2016, Michael and the Four Eyes team have been consistently reliable and up-to-date with current trends and software. I feel perfectly comfortable recommending them for development projects and website maintenance.
I highly recommend Four Eyes Web Productions for all your website needs. As a nonprofit, we trust them to help us create a website that reflects our mission and is easily accessible by everyone in our community. The team at Four Eyes are creative, thoughtful partners; they are knowledgeable and happy to share their expertise; and best of all, they are highly responsive whether we have a simple question or a more complicated project to tackle.
I can't say enough how thrilled I am to partner with Four Eyes Productions. Michael Sammut has been nothing short of extraordinary when it comes to managing websites. I am newly transitioning into taking over as the manager of my company and Michael has helped me every step of the way to know what, how, and when to do what needs to be done to ensure a smooth and successful transition. He is so personable and helpful too! Any request I have made of him has been answered promptly and with impeccable etiquette and courtesy! Thanks, Michael for all your help and I look forward to continuing to grow my working relationship with you and your company!
Nonprofits, law firms, manufacturers, and one very large travel operation.
Charlotte is the home base. The work has shipped into the Carolinas and beyond, across SaaS, light manufacturing, construction, professional services, hospitality, and nonprofits.
Common questions.
The ones that come up on most intake calls. If yours is not here, ask on the form.
Since 1998. twenty-eight years of continuous operation as Four Eyes Productions, Inc., first in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and now in Charlotte, NC, under the same founder.
Yes. Most of our clients are small and mid-size organizations: law firms, nonprofits, contractors, healthcare providers, and professional services firms that need a website to work as hard as a good sales rep.
A trained engineer leads the work and stays on it. Michael J. Sammut, the founder, is on every project from the first call through maintenance. There is no account-manager layer and no junior handoff, and twenty-eight years of pattern recognition sits behind every recommendation.
Yes, and they are the same job here. Technical SEO and AEO are built into the site structure rather than sold as a bolt-on afterward: schema, crawl architecture, performance, and content structured so search and answer engines can quote it correctly.
