Why maintenance is not optional

The ongoing work between launch and "it works every day."

Our approach is controlled and boring, which is the point.

WordPress sites need attention. Plugins update, themes drift, PHP versions change, and security holes open. Without active management, what worked six months ago starts failing quietly until it does not fail quietly at all.

Most maintenance is either nothing, or automatic updates that nobody watches. Nothing means the site slowly rots. Automatic updates mean the site breaks at two in the morning when a plugin author pushes a bad release. Neither is a plan.

Our approach is controlled and boring, which is the point. Updates run on a schedule, in a staging copy first, then to production with a rollback ready. Monitoring watches uptime, errors, and performance and alerts a person. Backups run daily to a separate location, and we test that they restore. Security is hardened up front and checked on a cycle, so an incident is rare and recoverable rather than a crisis.

Sites we did not build. A large share of our maintenance clients came to us with a site someone else built. We start with a baseline audit, fix the things that will cause problems, and then take over the routine. If the site is not worth maintaining, we say so.

What you get. A monthly update cycle with a written log. Monitoring that alerts us before you notice. Backups you can actually restore from. Security hardening and incident response. Forms tested so leads and donations do not silently stop. And small changes handled by the person who knows the code, not a ticket queue.

Already hacked? Start with hacked WordPress site repair; the care plan is what keeps it from happening again.

How maintenance runs

Controlled, disciplined, monitored.

Onboarding

Baseline audit

Theme, plugins, hosting, PHP version, backups, and security reviewed. Anything that will cause problems is fixed first, then monitoring goes on.

Monthly

Staged update cycle

Core, theme, and plugin updates applied in staging, checked, then released with a rollback ready. Logged so you can see what changed.

Continuous

Monitoring and backups

Uptime, errors, and performance watched with alerts to a person. Daily off-site backups with restores tested.

As needed

Changes and incidents

Small content and layout changes handled by the engineer who knows the site. Incidents isolated, rolled back, and fixed forward with the least risky change.

Questions

What people ask about website maintenance.

Each plan includes three types of help. Support incidents cover the everyday work, such as content updates, quick fixes, and questions. Development hours are for building things: new features, new pages, integrations, and improvements. Strategy consulting is planning and guidance time: talking through decisions, mapping out initiatives, and advising your team.

One incident covers one issue, with up to 30 minutes of work: a content update, a quick fix, a broken form, a plugin acting up, or a question you need answered. If something turns out to be bigger than that, we let you know before doing more, and the additional work comes from your development hours or gets a separate estimate.

Most sites run a controlled monthly cycle. High-change sites and WooCommerce stores can be more frequent, but only with staging and a rollback plan.

No. Automatic updates are how you get surprise outages. Updates are staged, checked, and released with a rollback ready.

We roll back, isolate the conflict, then fix forward with the least risky change. That is why we do not run auto-updates.

Yes. We start with a baseline audit, fix what will cause problems, then take over the routine. If the site is not worth maintaining, we say so.

Yes, as an incident scope. Ongoing maintenance reduces the odds, but no one should pretend it is impossible. We clean up, then harden.

Often, yes. Keeping the stack lean and current helps. Where the theme or hosting is the real cause, we tell you what it would take to fix.

Yes. WooCommerce sites need tighter release discipline, and we test checkout after every update cycle.

Yes. We coordinate. We do not play vendor ping-pong.

Yes, with a secure access approach. No shared logins.

Send your URL. We confirm scope, then onboard with a baseline audit.
